Hey, I got your note about the community garden plot rotation. To answer your question directly, yes, moving the tomato beds to the south side makes sense because they were getting too much afternoon shade from the oak near the fence line. The soil test came back with slightly low nitrogen levels, so I would recommend adding a layer of composted leaf mold about two inches deep before you transplant anything. Also the irrigation timer needs a new battery, that is probably why the kale was looking wilted on Tuesday morning. Let me know if you want me to bring over the wheelbarrow and the drip line stakes. I can swing by around nine on Saturday before the farmers market gets crowded. We should also check the gate latch because it has been sticking again after that rain last week. My neighbor said the community board is voting on whether to add a second water spigot near the herb spiral, so that might be worth raising at the next meeting. I will bring a printed copy of the plot map with my suggested changes so we can walk through it together. Looking forward to sorting this out.

Okay so regarding the potluck for the neighborhood association meeting on Thursday, I think the side dish sign up sheet should be updated. Last time three people brought green salads and nobody brought a protein option. If you could add a note asking people to specify what kind of dish they are bringing, that would help avoid another overload of pasta salads. Also the folding chairs in the community room need to be counted before the event because someone borrowed several for a block party last month and never returned them. I checked the storage closet and there are only twenty two chairs left, which is not enough for the expected turnout. We might want to ask the library if we can borrow a few extra for the evening. I can pick them up on my way home from work if you give me a confirmation by Wednesday afternoon. And let me know if you still have the extension cord for the coffee urn, because I could not find it in the usual bin under the sink. The meeting agenda looks good overall, I just added one item under new business about the crosswalk repainting request on Elm Street. Should take about two minutes to cover. See you then.
