Honestly I was just looking over my bookshelf and thought about how I rearranged the paperbacks last weekend. The spine colors were all clashing in a way that made no sense visually, but at the time it felt like a smart way to sort by author last name. Then I pulled a few of the taller hardcovers off the second shelf because they were leaning too much and the shelf bow was starting to become noticeable. I found an old bookmark someone made for me years ago with a little star drawn on it, it always reminds me of that one library I used to visit as a kid. That place had the best window seat near the garden and you could hear the wind through the trees on quiet afternoons. Anyway I think the whole shelf looks better now even though the system is sort of approximate and I probably will not remember where I put anything next week. The light in that corner is too bright before noon so I closed the curtain halfway and now the room feels cozier without being dark.

I spent part of the weekend trying to clean up the pantry shelves because the labels were all mixed up and nothing matched the containers. The tea bags were next to the pasta and one jar of honey ended up behind the canned beans somehow. I moved the spices into a small basket I found in the closet and now at least I can see what I have without knocking half of it over. There is a weird empty bin in the corner that used to hold potatoes and now it just has a single oven mitt in it from some old set I do not remember buying. Maybe I will use it for bread or something if I get around to baking again. The whole kitchen smells a bit like cinnamon now because one of the spice jars had a loose lid and the powder got everywhere when I lifted it out. It is not the worst outcome honestly, the place needed some freshening up anyway. By late afternoon I gave up on the lower cabinet because the hinges stick and it is more trouble than it is worth to sort the mixing bowls right now. The good news is the tea section looks excellent and I found my favorite mug behind the toaster bOBa7YwZfI so that was a win for the day.
