September marks Suicide Prevention Month, a time that underscores the importance of every Veteran’s life.

This year, from September 21-25, VA is participating in Buddy Check Week. Buddy checks emphasize simple, actionable ways Veterans can support one another through connection and outreach. If a Veteran you know is dealing with stress, feeling isolated, or going through a difficult time, your check-in could save a life.

As we observe Buddy Check Week, we invite every Veteran to other Veterans employees to reach out.

Please take time to familiarize yourself with VA’s Don’t Wait. Reach Out. campaign materials and website at va.gov/REACH, where you can find and share Suicide Prevention Month and Buddy Check Week resources aimed at reaching Veterans in need.
