CORE Outbreak Investigation Table
The CORE Outbreak Investigation Table is a list of outbreak and adverse event investigations primarily being managed by FDA’s CORE Response Teams. The investigations are in a variety of stages, meaning that some outbreaks have limited information, and others may be near completion. The table will be updated weekly.
This week's updates are:
- For the outbreak of Salmonella Bovismorbificans (ref #1411) linked to sprouts from Evergreen Fresh Sprouts LLC., FDA has initiated sampling.
- For the outbreak of Salmonella Newport (ref #1403), the case count has increased from 109 to 111.
- For the outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (ref #1379), the case count has increased from 9 to 10.
- For the outbreak of Cyclospora (ref #1392), the case count has increased from 231 to 234.
- For the outbreak of Cyclospora (ref #1390) linked to iceberg lettuce, the outbreak has ended. FDA’s investigation is ongoing. FDA updated the outbreak advisory on September 11, 2026, with investigational updates.
- For the outbreak of E. coli O145:H28 (ref #1389) linked to frozen blueberries, FDA updated the outbreak advisory on September 11, 2026, with additional distribution information for product included in the September 2, 2026, expanded recall.
- For the outbreak of Salmonella Newport (ref #1366) linked to cantaloupe, the Executive Incident Summary Abstract can now be accessed by clicking the reference number. This outbreak investigation was moved to the Closed 2026 Table.
- For the outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (ref #1380) linked to soft cheese, the Executive Incident Summary Abstract can now be accessed by clicking the reference number. This outbreak investigation was moved to the Closed 2026 Table.
