Who are the 2026 Red Sox?
Are they fool’s gold, or are we fools for doubting them?
Are these playoff-bound Sox the team that struggled early, getting their manager and six coaches fired with a 10-17 start, then bottoming out at 32-46 on June 24 — one of the worst teams in baseball? Are they the sleepy team that goes into this weekend having lost nine of 14, playing mediocre ball, 21-23, since Aug. 7?
Or are they the unbeatable juggernaut that toyed with MLB’s iron from June 25-Aug. 7, winning 32 of 37 games with sweeps of the Yankees, first-place Rays, playoff-bound White Sox, and two-time defending world champion Dodgers?
