We are proud to share that McNair Elementary School has earned the Virginia Purple Star designation for our commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families. The designation recognizes schools that help military families feel welcomed, supported, and connected as they transition into a school community. Special thanks to our Special Education Teacher, Ms. Litvany, who is our school's Purple Star Lead. Ms. Litvany led this work and we appreciate her commitment to welcoming and supporting military families.
This achievement is part of an exciting milestone for Fairfax County Public Schools. FCPS has become Virginia’s largest Purple Star Division, with every school earning and maintaining the designation. More than 12,600 military-connected students attend FCPS schools, and we are honored to help ensure that McNair is a welcoming place for every student and family who serves our community.
