Gulf Council’s Reef Fish Advisory Panel to Meet

8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. EST

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will host a one-day meeting of its Reef Fish Advisory Panel (AP). The meeting will be held at the Council Office located at 4107 West Spruce Street, Suite 200, Tampa, Florida 33607.

The Reef Fish Advisory Panel will review and provide recommendations on a draft amendment that considers management changes to the shallow-water grouper and deep-water grouper complexes. The Advisory Panel will also consider removal of the 20-fathom shallow-water grouper closure, modification to the federal for-hire red snapper fishing season, and lane snapper management measures.

Public comment will be taken in-person and via webinar before the meeting adjourns.
