Child Care Grants Available for Providers
$564,580 is available for Child Care Capacity Building and Quality Improvements grants. This funding opportunity is open to both childcare centers and family day care homes, offering providers up to $75,000 toward investments to build capacity and make improvements. Applications due 5:00 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 20, 2024. Awards Spring 2025.

Arlington's Holiday Giving Program uses a gift card model. Gift cards empower recipients to select the food they want, style, color/size of clothes, or perfect toy for a child. Kindness is wonderful. But for many, charity from strangers can feel patronizing. For a low-income family, a child seeing that a gift from a parent bonds the family. Happening Now: Medicare Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment ends Dec. 7! If you have Medicare and take insulin, you’ll pay $35 per month (or less) for each covered drug you take. That means paying no more than $105 for a three-month supply. Review coverage options with a Virginia Insurance Counseling & Assistance Program (VICAP) counselor to make sure your plan for 2025 that covers insulin.
