WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of Labor is seeking membership nominations for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Maritime Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health.
Committee nominees should have a strong interest in the safety and health of workers in the shipyard, longshoring and commercial fishing industries. The Secretary of Labor will select 15 members to create a broad-based, balanced and diverse committee representing the interests of employers, employees, safety and health professional organizations, government organizations with interests or activities related to the maritime industry, academia and the public.
Members serve a two-year term, beginning on the date of the Secretary’s appointment to the committee. The advisory committee meets approximately twice per year.
Submit nominations and supporting materials electronically to the Federal eRulemaking Portal. The deadline for submitting nominations is Jan. 6, 2025. Read the Federal Register notice for additional information.
MACOSH advises the Secretary of Labor in formulating maritime industry standards and matters pertaining to the administration of the Occupational Safety and Health Act related to the maritime industry.
