Hello Bull Run families!
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the Bull Run community.
I would like to extend my deepest thanks to each and every one of you for the warm welcome and ongoing support I have received as the new principal of Bull Run. It has truly been a privilege to be part of this community, and I am excited to continue on this journey together.
Since stepping into this role, we have worked together to create a positive and collaborative environment where both students and staff can thrive. I am proud of what we have accomplished so far, both academically and in the area of student behavior. It is a direct result of the hard work, commitment, and shared vision that each member of our school community has brought to the table.
As many know, there have been some instructional changes that our staff have had to navigate, on top of their already huge task of being a classroom teacher. Being a teacher is hard work, and has its challenges daily. However, our staff show up for their students, remaining passionate and dedicated to their important work. It is important that they feel supported and appreciated. If you haven't already, please take a moment to thank your child's teachers.
We invite you to submit on FCPS Cares, so we can all share and acknowledge the positive impact work of our Bull Run staff.
Wishing you all a joyful and restful Thanksgiving holiday! I will be traveling to New York to spend the holiday with my wife's family. For those sharing in the traffic with me, I wish we all have the best of luck and safe travels!
Monday, December 9th is our next 3-hour early dismissal at 1:00 pm at Bull Run Elementary.
We will plan to use the information based upon the previously completed early dismissal Monday, but if there is a change in transportation plans or you are planning to have your student go home at 1:00pm instead, please let me and/or your child's teacher know as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.
Additional information can be found on the FCPS Early Release Mondays webpage.
Reminders:
Tomorrow is Bull Run Spirit Friday! Spirit wear is encouraged and or wear your blue and white.
Also, don't forget that there is no school on Wednesday, 11/27, through Friday, 11/29, for Thanksgiving Break. The office will be closed, and classes will resume on Monday, December 2nd.
There won't be a traditional 'Bulls Bulletin' sent out next Thursday due to the short week.
Have a great long weekend!

Sixth grade band students within the Centreville pyramid were invited to Liberty Middle School to attend a special performance opportunity on the evening of November 15. This event offered a chance for students to get a taste of what band class at Liberty will be like. Over 90 sixth grade students had the opportunity to work with the Band Director, Mr. Joe LaBrie, as well as other FCPS instructors. Along with instrument-specific musical instruction the students also rehearsed together as a full band to experience how band classes are taught at Liberty. Current Liberty and Centreville HS students were also helping at the event to inspire and support the next generation of Wildcat Band musicians. At the end of the night, students performed a wonderful concert for their parents, after only a few hours of practice. It was a great evening of music making! Eid al-Fitr is currently slated to begin at sundown on Sunday, March 30, 2025, and lasts through sundown Monday, March 31, 2025. Monday is a holiday, with all schools and offices being closed. If the day for Eid changes after the school year begins, the calendar may be adjusted.

Boundary Review Community Meetings Start This Month
As a reminder, FCPS has started the process of reviewing school boundaries across the division. This important work will help the district better support student population growth, changes in school capacity, and evolving community needs. Community input is vital to this process. With that in mind, FCPS, in partnership with Thru Consulting, will be hosting a series of community meetings in each of FCPS’ six regions. Participants are encouraged to share their thoughts, ask questions, and learn more about the boundary review process.
Tuesday, December 3, 6:30-8 p.m., at Lake Braddock Secondary School Cafeteria. (REGION 4)
Please register in advance by clicking on the date above. Language interpretation will be available.
Please visit FCPS’ website for other meeting dates, locations, and other information. Sign up for the School Boundary Review newsletter for updates.

Services for Hearing-Impaired and Visually-Impaired Students
Students with sensory disabilities require specialized services and support to access instruction that is typically presented visually and auditorily (by means of hearing). FCPS provides educational services to students who are deaf, hearing-impaired, or visually impaired. They are supported in various settings, including at their school or through itinerant specialists who travel to different schools to work with students, rather than being based in a single school. Learn more about Services for Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and Services for Students Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired.
Visit the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) website for Resources for Serving Students with Sensory Disabilities.
Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!
Students who attend school regularly are more likely to perform well in reading and math, develop strong social and emotional skills, and graduate from high school on time. Help prepare your child for future success. Visit FCPS’ Attendance web page for tips and strategies.
Varsity Tutors Provides On-Demand Support at No Cost
