The artwork was showcased in Banksy’s first solo exhibition under his name at Severnshed, a boathouse restaurant at the Bristol Docks, in 2000, where all his works were priced under £1,000.


His market has since flourished, with a recent 2018 sale of this work at Sotheby's for $246,334, surpassing its auction house high estimate by 25%.

The set of similar sales comprise paintings by Banksy with the following criteria: Works on canvas, board, or wood that measure between 8 inches by 8 inches and 20 inches by 20 inches, excluding oil on canvas, works only with text,. The set also excludes the series Laugh Now, Flower Thrower and Balloon Girl as well as works with editions of more than 10. The data was sourced from publicly available auction records and does not include private sales. Such data may be incomplete or inaccurate. Sale records that do not contain images may be excluded from the comparative set. Although the paintings in the described set have similar characteristics to the Artwork, each individual painting is unique in terms of artistic content, coloring, condition, provenance and other factors. We, therefore, cannot make any determination or representation that any of the data set forth above is useful in determining the value of the Artwork and you are urged not to place undue reliance on such data.
