A letter from our editor:
There's been a heaviness here in Los Angeles these past couple of weeks and we're all just trying our best to look out for each other. There is a shining hopefulness, though, because we're seeing folks stepping up to help everywhere we look. It's a powerful reminder of the importance of community — and that even in a huge city like ours, we can still come together and advocate for healing.
So this week, I'm sharing a roundup of resources for people impacted by these fires, and for those who may be in a different state who want to help.
As we also enter into a new presidency, I'm reminded that this work needs to happen at the federal and global level too. Here's a list of grassroots organizations to get involved with so we can build a more equitable and sustainable future.
Warmly, Emily Editorial Director

I've been keeping a close eye on the air quality — and also keeping this DIY handy in case I need some extra air purification.
