Inauguration Day Preparation
The County is preparing for the 60th Presidential Inauguration at the U.S. Capitol on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025. The Arlington County Police Department encourages everyone be attentive, particularly in areas where crowds of people typically gather such as shopping centers, restaurant districts, religious services, and public transportation hubs. If you See Something, Say Something, and encourage your friends, family and neighbors to do the same.
Here is how you can stay informed during inauguration day:
- Register for Arlington Alert
- Sign up to receive real-time alerts from the District on severe weather, public safety, traffic impacts and more by texting DCINAUG to 888-777
- Visit inauguration.dc.gov for information on transit, security, traffic and more
- Visit readyarlington.com for cold weather preparedness and resources
The United States Capitol building sits atop Capitol Hill at the eastern end of the National Mall, Washington, D.C.
Arlington County Government offices and services will be operating on modified schedules on Jan. 20, in observation of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day/Inauguration Day.
