What a great week back it has been! We have loved having everyone back in the building for a full week after our extended Winter Break. This week, we spent time recommitting to our expectations within the classrooms and across the building, and we were able to get back into a lot of good learning. Thank you for helping your students get to school safely this week – As you know, it is so important for every student to come to school every day. If you have questions about whether or not to send your child if they aren’t feeling 100% or have an appointment, do not hesitate to call and talk it through with someone here at school.
This past week, we had a visit from our School Board Representative, Ms. Marcia St John-Cunning. Showing off the amazing work of our students and staff is the best feeling, and Ms. Marcia loved meeting some of you and some of our students. We also had our family market this past week – Thank you to everyone who was able to volunteer to make sure things ran smoothly and thank you for your patience throughout the market! We hope you were able to use the groceries to make some delicious meals this week.
Our sixth grade Strings students had a field trip this week to the Kennedy Center to hear visiting artists from Mexico play with the National Symphony Orchestra, which was such an incredible opportunity for them. Speaking of 6th grade, we are excited to start having parents support our 6th grade as Room Parents! If you are a parent of a 6th grader and have at least one hour per week that you can come in to volunteer and support our 6th graders, we would absolutely love to have you. Please reach out to Ms. Maggie Perez-Rives for more information about this exciting opportunity and to talk through scheduling.
As always, we are thankful for your partnership and are here to support you and your students in any way. Please never hesitate to reach out – We are here for you!
