Dear CWES Families,
We've had a fantastic first full week back in 2025! It's wonderful to see our students settling back into their routines and engaging enthusiastically in their learning.
The end of the second quarter is approaching; it is hard to believe. Throughout the next few weeks, students will be completing midyear assessments. These assessments will help us track student progress and guide our instruction moving forward.
With the cold weather upon us, please ensure your child comes to school prepared for all weather conditions. We've been enjoying limited outdoor recess when the weather permits, so please make sure your child has a warm coat, hat, gloves, and appropriate footwear. We hope everyone enjoys the upcoming long weekend and stays warm!

 Cougars, Let's Stock the Lounge
It's our first ever Stock the Lounge event! As the second quarter winds down, we are appreciating and loving on our amazing staff and faculty who work around the clock by stocking their faculty lounge with snacks, candy, coffee, drinks- you name it. Drop off items in the front office between Jan 21-24th and mention this is for Stock the Lounge.

 Get2Green Event at Woodson:
Are you interested in being an environmentally conscious citizen? Are you concerned about food waste? If so, you are invited to attend a FCPS Get2Green event at Woodson H.S., sponsored by Canterbury Woods E.S. and Woodson H.S. We will be showing an abbreviated version of the documentary Just Eat It, followed by a panel discussion by experts from Food for Others, Hands on Harvest, FCPS students and more!
Where: Woodson High School. Please park by the front of the school and enter through door 18.
When: Thursday, February, 6th 6:30 pm-8:15

 Please join the CG Woodson Chorus at its 36th annual Dessert on Broadway. Students choreograph and preform numbers from classic and modern musicals.
January 24 at 7:00 p.m.

Dessert is served starting 1 hour before show time.
