The financing round for Nullpunkt AG has just started. Investors can now subscribe to shares of a Swiss AG and invest in a company that has translated one of the most unusual ideas in the heating market into a marketable system: Heating with ice.
The apparent contradiction is easy to explain: when water freezes and melts, energy is stored and made reusable. Nullpunkt uses exactly this effect to create a modern heating system that offers a powerful alternative to established systems.
Nullpunkt AG was founded by three engineers with many years of founding experience in mechanical engineering and numerous clients in aerospace, automation, and measurement technology. The already patented ice storage heat pump technology is based on this industrial development experience; a further patent for the heat exchanger has been applied for.
Nullpunkt is also already operationally beyond the purely development phase: First systems are in use, the company has its own production machines, its own climate laboratory and more than 30 installation partners in Switzerland. |

What does Nullpunkt do?
Nullpunkt is developing a modern heating system for single-family homes that makes thermal energy storable in ice. The technology uses a simple physical effect: energy is stored and made reusable during the change between water and ice. This so-called latent energy allows for approximately 5 times more storable energy at a comparable size. This creates a compact ice storage system that makes environmental energy available with a time delay and can be used for efficient heating.
At the center is an ice storage heat pump system, which consists of three components: an external heat exchanger, a compact ice storage unit, and a heat pump. The external heat exchanger absorbs energy from the environment, the ice storage unit stores this energy in the form of water and ice, and the heat pump makes it usable for the building.
